I am a career changer with a liberal arts background.
Pros for Tepper are red, Pros for McCombs are orange
My Thoughts:
- I want to transition into Strategy Consulting for MBB or Big 4
- I want to work in the mid-atlantic - Then again, Texas is an awesome state and I might change my mind
- I went to a military college undergrad so UT Austin seems like a lot of fun - Austin was a blast when I visited for a football game and interview - McCombs places a little better in consulting, but
seems like it is mostly in Texas - The cost is about the same when scholarships are included.
- Both cities have vibrant tech cultures
- I have a weak quant background and that is definitely a void I need to fill - I like how Tepper has eight mini semesters - I grew up in Appalachia and something about attending the top science and technology school in Appalachia is appealing - I like the small classes at Tepper...but McCombs is only a little bigger
- Both schools are building new $200 million facilities
- I feel like Tepper is really on the upswing and could keep moving up...but I don't know much about how McCombs is trending.
- Pittsburgh is way closer to homeThoughts?
