I have received admits from Kelley (50% $$) and MSU Broad(100% $$) and I am having a real hard time deciding between the two.
My profile
Engineering in Metallurgy & Materials Science. I have a work experience of 5 years in an Indian Automobile company in the role of Materials Engineer (amalgamation of Research (mostly), testing, operations, shop floor). A typical case of jack of all master of none.
Goals
To be honest, not 100% sure yet. I like Operations but I am more interested to get into Operations Consulting rather than getting a core supply-chain/logistics role post-MBA. One thing is certain, I am not at all interested to get into Finance,Banking and Tech. I am fine with Ops/management consulting or project management.
Questions
1) Based upon my mentioned goals, which college will offer me better job opportunities?
2) Scholarship is a big factor for me, so MSU Broad is a clear winner here. But, I can invest extra bucks provided I can reap benefits in the long run. So, will it be worth investing extra 45k USD (which is a big deal for me) in Kelley for the long term value addition ? How much does the college ranking or brand matter in the off-campus recruitment and career progression in the long run ?
3) I know my profile is closest to Operations and in most colleges recruitment for internships start as early as 2 months into the program and that is mostly based on the prior work experience. So, how difficult will it be(more so in the current scenario) for an international student to make a profile change in MBA ?
Any advice/suggestions would be very much appreciated!! Thanks !
