Hi,
I am already a business school student at a top 25 school. However, I am realizing now that the school is not in line with my goals (to work as a product manager in tech).
I have the opportunity to apple for NYU Stern's Technology program which is only a year long. I don't know if this is a good idea or not. Stern is a more prestigious school- but I don't know if it is worth transferring. The credits I have earned from this school will not transfer. It is also going to be a much different program as it is only one year long, and it is located in New York (whereas I am currently in the south).
It does seem like it would be a better fit though in terms of my long term career aspirations. Any advice is much appreciated.

What are your long term goals? This feels like a major change for a fairly new program that has probably low awareness amongst recruiters.

Do you have the requisite background for moving into a PM role ? Assume that you learn nothing at NYU, would you be able to function efficiently as a PM once you land a PM. The point is if you don't have that experience in tech then not sure if only NY brand will help you make the transition. You will learn very little technology in that program.
