Initial pre-MBA goal was to combine sports+tech in some way (most likely digital media platforms that host sports broadcasts such as Amazon Prime or Youtube). I'm open to the idea of product management (esp. related to sports), management consulting, or other types of technology or sports work.
I'm offered $30K from Kellogg and nothing from Sloan. I'd like to ask Kellogg for more time so that I can go to adMIT weekend (3 weeks would be perfect) and I want to ask Sloan to match Kellogg's scholarship before making a decision. I know I should wait till January at least to ask, but I'm not sure how to do that.
My initial impression is that Kellogg is superior for general management, marketing, and creating closer bonds of friendship than Sloan, which I am afraid is going to be collaborative in an engineering way rather than the traditional sense of community. I'm also unsure of whether Sloan, which is great for tech and sports (my initial pre-MBA goal), would be as good for other industries I am interested in exploring (consulting, CPG with brands like Nike) during b school. That being said, I'm not sure whether I'd prefer what looks like an easier curriculum at Kellogg or one that might be more challenging and educational at Sloan, especially in something like business analytics since I want to come out of b school much more comfortable with quant and big data.
Right now I'm slightly leaning towards Sloan, but think Kellogg may be better for me. Would love to hear others' impressions of the two. Would also be keen on any resources that others use to compare programs. The big questions I have are probably around the differences in academics, post-mba career opportunities/perception of brand, and community fit.
Didn't see any other thread asking for help on this particular decision so I hope there are others who have had to make this decision and can provide input!
