Hello! Thank you Harsh.
Well, the thing here is, I do come from a Commerce and Finance background. I have a bachelors degree in Commerce, I graduated in May of 2017. I cleared 2 levels of Chartered Accountancy and worked 3 years as an Intern at PwC’s assurance department. I will clear my CPA US exams this year and obtain a license before leaving for masters. So, considering all this, I’m just unsure as to how spending two additional years (1st and 2nd) would really help me. If Skema’s post graduation scenario of MSc Financial Markets is almost similar to that of MiM-FE, I would rather choose a one year program and start working early than spend 3 years, as I am at an important juncture in both my personal and professional life.

Hoping to hear from you soon.

Given your background it doesn't make sense to spend 3 years at edhec then... Go for Skema... Or u can even try asking edhec if they can give u direct admit to year 3...there are people who directly apply for 1 year masters at edhec (essentially the third year). In any case, if u decide to go for 1 year program then ensure completion of few things such as mastery over French, networking with alumni, identify big players and relevant job profiles etc. These things should be done before u land in France... Go for intensive courses at Alliance Française. U don't wanna waste time studying French in France and stuff like that. Also, try negotiating a scholarship with Skema. Tell them that u got an admit at edhec and they are willing to consider u for scholarship.

Hope this makes sense.

Thank you Harsh for the advice. I noted all your points.

Well, the only thing I’m worried about is the brand of Skema. Do Skema graduates really get employed at average of 53k€ within 3 months. I know all the information on their website is audited and authentic. But, do employers really choose an EDHEC MiM-FE graduate over Skema MSc graduate, just looking at the brand? Are you aware of any students of Skema who can help with the inside aspects? This would be really helpful to have a complete picture and make a decision. I’ve been trying to contact a few MSc students at Skema on LinkedIn, but most of them are non-responsive. How do I connect with Skema students and alumni, other than through LinkedIn?

Get hold of their campus ambassador. Talk to both Indian and non Indian ambassador to get unbiased view. They will help u with everything. Also there is a way to request on LinkedIn that's effective. Include some punch line such as 'your 5 mins can help build a career' etc... It works...its not just about brand but about school's connections with industry, location of the school, professor's connections and past background etc..

Hi,

I have admit to Msc in Corporate finance program at Skema Business school. I am a Chartered accountant and a BCOM graduate and have a roughly 5.5 years of post qualification experience apart from 4 years of internship. Can anyone share their reviews about the college and how wise is it to join or not to join. Thankyou.
