Hi guys,
I would appreciate insight into the following: which school (Booth or Yale) would give me better career prospects in EUROPE post-MBA in corporate strategy in big pharma?
My question is very specific because I understand that Booth has better rankings but it’s in finance and economics, maybe even marketing. I’m dead set on corporate strategy because I want to work for a multinational in order to be able to ask for their European office and come back to Europe. I’m not an EU citizen (American), so I need the company to sponsor my return. I’m interested in learning more about:
Which school has a more international brand for multinationals? I know that the Yale brand is automatically recognized by almost anyone, but does Booth still pull its weight in Big Pharma internationally?
Which school would offer more recruiting opportunities abroad, whether that’s through already established relationships with certain multinationals with offices abroad or through alumni? Booth alumni are mainly in finance and consulting in Europe, safe four people maybe that I’ve found. I’ve found Yale Alumni in Europe in Big Pharma, but they studied their MD, PhD or postdoc at Yale... and that seems even more removed from the Yale College experience to me. How accessible really is the wider network? Or does it matter? I’ve heard that having the Yale.edu email will prompt people to respond even cold call emails.
Thank you in advance for your help!
P.S. Going to INSEAD or HEC are not viable options at this point for me. I’ve rejected these offers already because it would actually be more expensive than going to either Yale and Booth, and because a one-year program is not appealing with the current covid19 situation.
