Hi
BiswajitMahapatra , As someone from manufacturing background myself, who attended INSEAD, I am happy to share some first hand insights
1. Realistically speaking, you would easily be able to move into management consulting, general management roles in MNCs and operations and program management roles in tech startups. You will have plenty of opportunities post MBA if you try to understand what transferable skills the recruiters are looking for in someone like you and you work towards polishing those skills with help from your peers at B School.
You may not easily be able to transition into core banking, PE and finance roles without having prior experience in this field.
2. 29 years of age (5+ years of work ex) is the sweet spot for most Top B Schools. 29-30 years is the average age of Cohort at LBS, INSEAD etc.
3. If you have post MBA Goals clear in your mind then you must evaluate whether a 1 year "fast paced" MBA would give you the skills and the brand to quickly move up to mid management or leadership roles, or, would you need to build a strong hold on certain metiers for which you must spend 2 years in classroom (Especially if you are planning a drastic industry change such as wanting to move from engineering to finance)
4. MBA from US can give you plenty of lucrative opportunities in mid management or leadership roles in Tech Startups, automotive and industrial companies (of all sorts for example GE, Siemens, GM,
Boeing, Honeywell ) to name a few.
If you wish to discuss more we can hop on a call sometime to address your queries and evaluate your prospects.

Hello,
I scored 700 in my 1st GMAT attempt in Feb 2021. I am a 29 yr male engineering graduate from IIT. I have 5 years experience as an junior level executive in a central PSU company (Coal India). My present job is of Production and maintenance nature.
I am planning to pursue full time MBA (Preferably in 2022) in some of the good B-Schools in USA or some elite B-Schools in Europe (such as LBS, INSEAD etc.). But I don't have much idea regarding business schools abroad and the courses and opportunities offered by them. Below are some of my queries.
1. Will MBA be sufficient to change my current career path or any additional certification or work experience will be needed? I only have 5 years work experience in production sector and no other specific skill set.
2. As my current age is 29, is it the right time for me to pursue MBA in order to change my career path.
3. Which course is better? (1 Year or 2 year course).
4. Which are the different possible career profiles that MBA from USA can help me achieve?
Thanks in advance.
