Thanks for your reply.
I have heard some really great things about your course.

My question is I am already a month into my preparation and have developed some methods and strategies.

Going by the way of IVY method and Variable approach, will I believe require a lot of time to develop from ground up.

prakhartjain - First, a Q48 is a good score. Therefore, I am sure Target Test Prep was useful, and you did mention the course helped you gain conceptual clarity. That said, I have myself gone through the Target Test Prep course and therefore can say that it's sufficient to get a score of Q49 and above. Could you please provide more information about your preparation?

1. On which practice test did you score a Q48? GMAT Prep?
2. What was your baseline GMAT Score?
3. How long did you study from your baseline score to the current Q48 level?
4. Did you complete all the modules of the Target Test Prep Quant course?

Hello everyone,

I have prepared for the quant My basics and fundamentals are clear but my score is hit a maximum point on Q48.
I have got a good conceptual clarity, but I am not able to solve the tricky DS problems.

I need to learn DS strategies and test taking strategies and improve on solving advanced 700+ questions.
Can you guide me what books, prep course to refer from to Develop that? My target score is Q50.

I checked out Math Revolution, but I see there teaching methodology is different/new and I have worked my way to the Q48 already and spending time to learn a new method dont seem feasible to me. But I might be wrong and want your expert opinion. Any other source you might suggest or direct me if my view about Math Revolution is wrong.

Need your expert view as you guys are my mentors in the preparation.

Hi prakhartjain

I can tell you for sure that in case you require to go up from 48 to 50-51, the basics require to be Crystal clear, and any specific technique being sponsored may not suffice. I won’t comment on any specific institute but take it for almost all the institutes.

Now, how do you increase then. It is very important to analyse where you are going wrong. There may be specific areas that are either eating too much of your time during test or turn out to be bouncers most of the time. Once you know your weaknesses, there are theories and thousands of questions on net and while solving them, you may find that you have been able to improve your score. Do learn techniques of using options to your advantage or using number properties to eliminate options. This may give you much required time for tougher questions.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes TTP is good but I feel only for beginners and it can take you only upto a certain score. (in My case Q48.)
I have scored Q48 in multiple GmatPrep official mocks.

No I didnt do the entire module. My baseline score was Q45 and I further worked on my weaker topics through TTP and it gave me a solid base.

My conceptual clarity is 99% in all topics.
I make errors in solving tough DS problems as my strategy to pick numbers didnt get developed.
Along with Number picking, other elimination, testing cases strategy hasn't been covered in the TTP course.

I am looking for other good source for studying this aspect of the quant course in a structured manner rather than trying to learn from the questions.

Any inputs will be appreciated

Thanks for your reply.
My conceptual clarity is pretty much 100%.
I have covered all concepts in depth.

However as you mentioned picking options, eliminating using number properties and test cases. That skill set is what I lack.
I tried picking it up via solving sums and reading solutions but couldnt develop it to improve my score.

Can you refer me any source where I can learn these strategies of picking numbers and elimination to apply in Inequalities, number properties, DS questions?
Anything which will give a structure to the process.

I have learned alot from your solutions in my gmat journey. Keep the good work up.

Direction about my query will be appreciated
Thanks in advance.

Hi prakhartjain,

I’m a bit baffled by your post here, especially given that you in no way have been using TTP in the way the course was intended. At this point, you have completed a 5-day trial and also used your friend’s account, as you told us in one of your emails. Had you actually used TTP the right way, by purchasing your own account, following your personalized study plan, and completing the entire course, I have no doubt you would have scored higher than Q48 on the GMAT.

Furthermore, just two days ago, you deleted this post after telling us how grateful you are for TTP, and now you’ve reinstated the post because we did not provide you with a discount. On top of that, you blew off a free strategy call that we offered. This all leads me to believe that this post was created only to hurt TTP.

Regarding your baseless claim about TTP quant, our course has helped 100s, if not 1,000s of students score above Q48 on the GMAT. Just go to our reviews page and look at the scores...it’s all there. In fact, here are two debriefs from TTP students who improved from Q44 to Q50 and Q46 to Q51.

At the end of the day, I want to make one thing clear: The entire team at TTP is here to help our students. However, we can’t help our students if they don’t use the course as it was intended. Using a friend’s TTP account, and then making careless claims on GMAT Club is not the right way to do things.

If you would still like to take advantage of the strategy call, let us know, and we can take things from there.

Hello,

Understanding of VA and IVY approach is not challenging and will not take much time. Applications of these approaches across various topics in regular practice will bring a lot of confidence and gradually you will have reached maximum accuracy thus saving time in solving especially DS questions.

Time in learning some exceptions could be longer and it depends upon how well you perceive the basics of these approaches.
