What is the value of \(x^2 + y^2\) ?
(1) \(x^2 + y^2 = 2xy + 1\)
if x=y=1, \(x^2 + y^2 = 2xy + 1=2*1*1+1=3\)
if x=y=0, \(x^2 + y^2 = 2xy + 1=2*0*0+1=1\)

(2) \(x^2 + y^2 = 4 -2xy\)
if x=y=1, \(x^2 + y^2 = 4-2xy =4-2*1*1=2\)

Option c makes the catch as we can only find with these two equations
