1st hour , distance travelled by car = d km
2nd hour , distance travelled by car = d/2 km
Average speed = Total distance/Time
= (d + d/2)/2 = 3/4 d
Answer D
We can also solve this using weighted average concept .
As the time for both the legs is same , the speed will be the average of the speed for first hour and second hour .
That is average of d and d/2 = 3/4 d
2nd hour , distance travelled by car = d/2 km
Average speed = Total distance/Time
