Hi guys, I just found that there are a few schools (incl. my targeted one) having admission policy where every admitted applicant will need to pay a deposit to secure their admission first before knowing whether or not he/she's getting any scholarship. After the final round is closed will the school then announce the scholarships to deserving candidates.
Is this common in MBA admission? And does anyone know the possible reasoning for having such policy?

I know a few schools have this policy for some of the scholarships (not all). Basically, the school has some named scholarships that are available to enrolled students and the schools use this argument to get people to pay the deposit. usually, the amounts and options are slim and scholarships few unfortunately so I would not count on it.... sorry. souvik101990 - do you have a better piece of advice to share?

Because my friend from ie and INSEAD got such requests. However, I have never seen such unusual requests.
