Can someone explain error in D
also what is subject to the second clause after and
and how do we find if that is an independent clause or dependent clause?
In D, the two main verbs are "maintain" and "eat". The conjunction "and" is missing between these verbs.
In C, there is no second clause after "and" - there are two verbs ("maintain" and "procure") in parallel in ONE clause - the subject of this clause is "Giant Pandas".
Hi
sayantanc2k,
Thanks for your valuable and insightful replies.
However I am confused by observing the replies from various other people here - they refer to the part
thus procure adequate levels of essential nutrients as a clause. Whereas according to me it is not. It is simply a Verb phrase, as you mentioned.
But this is where my doubt stems from - Why do we have a
, and (Comma + and) structure in the right answer choice as this gives the impression that the latter part is indeed as clause with the subject
Giant Pandas implied - [Giant Pandas] procure adequate levels of essential nutrients. Hence, it is a clause.... what?
Which kills my understanding of comma acting as a separator in a list of verbs , like in example - Sam drinks milk, eats apple and plays football.
As per me -
Sam drinks milk,
eats apple and
plays football.
Blue is the subject and Words in
Green are the 3 verbs which are simply separated by commas.
But as per logic suggested by people in the replies above , the correct construction is - Sam drinks milk
, and eats apple
, and plays football
Can you/anyone else help?
Thanks in advance.
