manass  you can eliminate C for using their. The more prevalent belief was not of the "few experts". C changes the meaning by using their.

I think option E lacks a that..

In many official questions as well, sometimes "that" is omitted. Please remember that it is not considered an error in GMaT.

For example:- I told her that I am well. --can also be written as--> I told her I am well.

GMAT doesn't test this.
