OR A few experts claim ..X. but the more prevalent belief is..Y..

Now making a noun phrase here requires adding of THAT in the beginning...
For example..
He is brilliant is known to entire school ----- That he is brilliant is known to entire school...

Check for this flaw in all the choices...
A.The church coined the date ‘February 14’ as Valentine’s day with an ulterior motive to “Christianize” the pagan celebration of Lupercalia is claimed by a few experts, but it is celebrated on this date to honor the anniversary of Valentine’s death or burial is the more prevalent belief.
BOth the red colored portion do not follow the proper structure

B.While with an ulterior motive to “Christianize” the pagan celebration of Lupercalia, a few experts do claim that the church coined the date ‘February 14’ as Valentine’s day, but the more prevalent belief is it is celebrated on this date to honor the anniversary of Valentine’s death or burial.
The red portion is not correct while the blue portion rectifies the mistake.

C.While a few experts claim that the church coined the date ‘February 14’ as Valentine’s day with an ulterior motive to “Christianize” the pagan celebration of Lupercalia, their more prevalent belief is that it is celebrated on this date to honor the anniversary of Valentine’s death or burial.
Their is wrong

D.The church coined the date ‘February 14’ as Valentine’s day with an ulterior motive to “Christianize” the pagan celebration of Lupercalia as claimed by a few experts, but its celebration on this date is to honor the anniversary of Valentine’s death or burial, the more prevalent belief.

manass you can eliminate C for using their. The more prevalent belief was not of the "few experts". C changes the meaning by using their.

I think option E lacks a that..
That the church coined the date ‘February 14’ as Valentine’s day with an ulterior motive to “Christianize” the pagan celebration of Lupercalia is claimed by a few experts, but the more prevalent belief is that it is celebrated on this date to honor the anniversary of Valentine’s death or burial.

In many official questions as well, sometimes "that" is omitted. Please remember that it is not considered an error in GMaT.

For example:- I told her that I am well. --can also be written as--> I told her I am well.

GMAT doesn't test this.
