In option D, cant "their", which is a pocessive pronoun refer to firm's. Please help

Hello,  shivamlohiya007 . To use  their , the sentence has to refer back to a plural entity, and the singular article  a  in  a firm's current ratio  indicates a singular entity, a firm. Thus, we would have to heark back to the only plural noun in the sentence,  analysts , to find the proper agreement. However, replacing the pronoun with its logical referent makes no sense:

Many financial analysts consider an upward trend in a firm’s current ratio a sign of  analysts'  improving liquidity.

Analysts are improving liquidity? If the original sentence used the plural  firms  instead, as in,  an upward trend in  several firms'  current ratio(s) , then you could make a legitimate case for  their  in reference to firms. But of course, the GMAT™ makes sure to steer the test-taker into a single correct line of thought, so we can only speculate on other potential sentences.
