I am getting worried, This is one of my fav. schools and I am looking forward to get a call from them... It is surprising to see that only 1 person got call from Carroll...

Live Essay Writing Workshop, presented by Admissionado


Sigh. The MBA Application essays. Who thought it was a good idea to ask people to write 2000 words before they even get INTO school? Turns out, it doesn’t matter, because someone did… and now you have to come up with the most compelling and memorable essays about leadership that you can. And then do it again for every school you apply to.

It’s not easy, but this upcoming event should help. Submit your MBA Application essay to have an opportunity to have it reviewed for free by the team at Admissionado. Three essays will be selected, and if you are one of the lucky ones, you will have the opportunity to go through your essay with Phillip Herring (admissions expert and CBS MBA) in a live session. You will need to be OK with sharing your essay with attendees (don’t worry – we’ll keep your name/private info out of it), and available and online at the time of the event to chat it up with Phillip. Even if you aren’t selected, listen in, because there will still be plenty of essay advice to go around.

Yes I had skype interview on 19th Nov. They offered me a total of 24K of scholarship (12K per year) and 6K for graduate assistantship (3K per year). I know it is a great school but I hoped for better scholarships!

I live in Boston now, but have lived all over the US and am a dual citizen. I have corporate finance background - small firms here and there and the new position is in finance at a F500 firm. I received $10,500/year - a mix of Dean's and assistantship and even though my GMAT and GPA are what I consider low, I think my essays/life story is good so I was hoping for more too. I am still awaiting a response before I decide :)

I am so worried now. I sent out my R2 application, but on last Friday (Jan 19），I only received an email telling me to log into the website to check my application status, it is said that my application on the website is all complete and is under committee review. However, there is no invitation for interview. So does it mean that I am denied? :shock:

I was admitted this past Monday. The process moved surprisingly fast IMO. I'm not intending to alarm anyone still waiting to hear, but here's how the timeline worked in my instance:

Applied: Jan 15
Invited To Interview: Jan 17 (invitation sent via email)
Interviewed: January 30th (via Skype with a 2nd yr student)
Received Admissions Decision on Monday, February 4th. I received an email saying an admissions decision had been made and to check my online profile (logged into the same portal I used to apply... used the same PIN as when completing the app).
I also received information about my scholarship at this time (Feb 4th).
