Guys, I am going to be a re-applicant to CBS, this time for the J-term.

I noticed that CBS have an abridged application for re-applicant, wherein they only require a 500-word re-applicant essay, and they state that 'Re-applicants are NOT required to submit additional essays. Only the re-applicant essay is required.'

I was wondering whether I may still go ahead and submit the standard 3 essays, in addition to the required re-applicant essay. I want to do this because I know that my previous essays were completely crap, and as such, want the opportunity to submit them again to better articulate my goals and career ambitions.

Do you think I may be able to do this?

I have a current client in this situation. I have advised him to rewrite the essays after reading his initial ones. And given the Columbia direction I am posting below, I would rather have him play offense. They say the additional essays are not required, but they do not say they are not allowed:)

Reapplicants are NOT required to submit additional essays. Only the reapplicant essay is required.

Did anyone ever get an official answer to this? I'm in the process of reapplying this year.
