You should be eligilble for the executive MBA. There is no reason why you should not be eligible. Did you write to the admissions committee?

Hello,

I am planning to give GMAT and targeting IIM for the one year mba. As per the eligibility criteria of IIM, 5 years of work experience is required till 31st March. But I'll be completing my 5 years in July. Should I still apply or wait for next year?

I am sure that you are looking at the criteria laid for 2019-20 batch. As you are yet to give your GMAT and all IIMs admission cycles are closed for 2019-20, byt the time you apply for the IIMs say from August-September 2019; you will have the 5 years criteria fulfilled.

You are definitely eligible for all the programs.
But your chances depend on the clarity of your goals, need for MBA, etc.

Yes, you will be eligible, but do look at the class profiles. For example, the person with the highest work-ex at IIMB (EPGP) had 15.6 years, so while you can apply, keep in mind that there will be very few people with your level of experience.

Hi globaldesi

The answer to your question depends on what you are looking for. For example, if your salary is already above the average at these programs, the salary jump you get post the program may not be much (if any at all). However, an MBA is for the long term - if you are looking to move domains from say, financial tech, to the business side of IB, the MBA can really help. Don't worry too much about the 1-year v/s 2-year aspect - the 1-year format (in India) has been created keeping in mind the need (and opportunity cost) of busy professionals, and is well accepted by industry.
