But, reversing the relation doesn't mean from positive to negative?

Any OA for this?

OFFICIAL EXPLANATION
--
Take a few steps to answer this question
  • See the diagram with full attention
  • Read the text and make a connection of the text with the diagram
  • Answer the questions

By reading the text and seeing the diagram we are easily able to understand that
  • As the fast driving content (F) increases the % of people who think car was sporty (S) also increases.
  • As the fast driving content (F) and the % of people who think car was sporty (S) increases the number of people who said they will purchase the car (L) also increases.
Now attempt the questions

5. If the relationship between L and S were inversed, then were would be a __________ correlation between F and S.

The current relation is when F increases S also increases, if the relationship reversed then the decrease in the value of F also decreases the value of S. So the relationship will remain positive and will just change the direction of the relationship from + + to - - .

Answer: Positive

My understanding is that:

L is directly proportional to S and F AND S is directly proportional to F.

So the change in relation between L and S will not impact the relationship between S and F.

Hence, it will still remain positively correlated, only the size of circles will change and it will be smaller for the largest F and largest for the smallest F.

Therefore, S and F will be positively correlated.
