(1) |x-y| = |y-x|
(2) xy not equal to zero

Is the value of x equal to the value of y?
(1) \(|x-y| = |y-x|\)
Elaborate it : \(|y-x|=|-(x-y)|=|x-y|\)
So \(|x-y| = |x-y|\)
This is true for every combination of \(x,y\): equal or not.
x=3, y=1 |3-1|=|3-1|
x=3, y=3 |3-3|=|3-3|
Not sufficient
(2) xy not equal to zero
So both \(x,y\) do not equal \(0\).
Not sufficient to say that they are the same.
(1)+(2) The cases in 1 are still valid because \(x,y\neq{0}\)

Stat 1: True whenever x and y both have same size, no matter they are same or not. Also true, when x and y are same...so clearly not sufficient.
Stat 2: Just tells x and y both can not be 0, so not sufficient.
Together: Still no new information.. Not sufficient.
