What is the value of st/u?
(1) s = 3t/4 and u = 2t
(2) s = u - 10 and u = s + t + 2

Question : What is the value of st/u?
Statement 1: s = 3t/4 and u = 2t
st/u = (3t/4)*t / 2t = 3t/8
We don't know the value of t hence
NOT SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: s = u - 10 and u = s + t + 2
u = s + t + 2
i.e. u = (u-10) +t+2
i.e. t = 8
But we can't calculate st/u even now hence,
NOT SUFFICIENT
Combining the two statements
st/u = 3t/8 and t = 8
hence, st/u = 3
SUFFICIENT
Answer: Option C

st/u = ((3t/4)*t)/2t
= (3t)/8

(2) s = u - 10 and u = s + t + 2
st/u = (u - 10)t/(s + t + 2)
Not sufficient
Combining 1 and 2 , we get
u = s + t + 2
= u - 10 + t + 2
=> t = 8
Using this value in
st/u =(3t)/8 = 3
Sufficient
Answer C

(2) s = u - 10 and u = s + t + 2
st/u = (u - 10)t/(s + t + 2)
Not sufficient
Combining 1 and 2 , we get
u = s + t + 2
