Is |x| = 4?
(1) |11 + x| = 15
(2) 11 + |x| = 15
(1) |11 + x| = 15
(2) 11 + |x| = 15
Not sure why 1 isn't sufficient since it yields x=-4 and 4, so when plugged into |x| it checks out?

I'm still learning this, so the logic I applied:
1) x = 4 or - 26, but |x|(absolute distance from zero)) is 4 or 26. Insuff
2) x = 4 or -4, but |x| = 4 only (absolute distance from zero). Suff
I hit E initially thinking x gives us 4 different values, but when I re read, its asking |x|, the absolute distance. Hope this was helpful to anyone struggling with this
