If 2 < m < 3, is the tenths digit of the decimal representation of m equal to 8?
(1) m + 0.01 < 3
(2) m + 0.05 > 3
(1) m + 0.01 < 3

If 2 < m < 3, is the tenths digit of the decimal representation of m equal to 8?
Let us consider the number is m = 2.ab
Statement 1 m + 0.01 < 3
2.ab+0.01 <3
2.(a+0)(b+1)
in the case if b+1 is more than 9 a+0 will become a+1 but in that case also a+1 will always be <10 many such cases are possible i.e m=2.8,2.97, 2.75 etc
Hence statement 1 is not sufficient
(2) m + 0.05 > 3
This indicates that there is a carry forward from tenth digit of m to the units digit to make it more than 3
that can only happen if a=9 as maximum carry forward from hundredth digit to tenth digit is one; hence, in all cases tenth digit will be 9
Hence, Sufficient
B is the right answer in my opinion
Let us consider the number is m = 2.ab
Statement 1 m + 0.01 < 3
2.ab+0.01 <3
2.(a+0)(b+1)

m could be 2.85, 2.89 etc, then yes.
Insufficient
(2) m + 0.05 > 3
m>2.95
So 2.95>m>3.00
The tenth’s digit is always 9.
Answer is No
