Hi EMPOWERgmatRichC, please find these question's answers below:

I expect to hear it by the second week of August, but since I will be free of application tasks, I plan to resume studying by July 23rd (after my vacations). The best date to retake the exam would be the last week of august, since round 1 of these schools will be, in most of the cases, by September.

*HEC has a rolling admissions system, so that one has applications deadlines monthly.

Thanks a lot.

Hi all -

I have scored 640 in GMAT last April, unsuccessfully tried it again in May, and stopped GMAT life to give it a shot for HEC Paris for 2017 January intake. Application results will take several time yet, but I want to start getting ready to the likely worst case, which is retaking the GMAT for September 2017 intake, and applying for LBS, Cambridge Judge, INSEAD, and HEC.

Long story made short: after a two month break, my GMAT fundamentals still exist but I forgot many tricks, skills, and advanced concepts; in a situation like that, what would be your suggestion to review the content most effectively?

Complementary information:

My scored 640 was comprised of a Q47 and a V30, though my expected result would be a Q45 V37, as per the previously taken MGMAT's and GMAT Prep's CATs.

I have an account on e-gmat for Verbal. (note: on the d-day, I got an awful 50%ile in RC, which is a section that I had often scored 90%ile in CAT's)

I have MGMAT and the OG Bundles.

Regardless of application, I would target 700 to get GMAT crossed out of my "bucket list".

Thanks in advance for those who spend some time trying to help me.
Dear livio04,
I'm happy to respond. :-)

My friend, I suspect that if you throw yourself into review, you will find that a lot comes back quickly. Just take a start-from-scratch approach and you will accelerate much faster than people who actually are starting from scratch.

I will say that my company, Magoosh, has a score guarantee. If you fulfill the requirements, that would be a score of at least 690 or your money back. Magoosh rarely winds up having to give anyone a refund, because so many of our students see much larger than 50 point gains. I would recommend this study schedule. Again, start as a "beginner" and you will accelerate much faster, and learn much more deeply, than genuine beginners.

In your situation, it is tempting to want to choose efficiency, because you have already done so much work. If you consistently choose conscientiousness over efficiency, you will get much more out of your studies, and your previous work will support you in the most effective way possible. You can take anything for granted if you want to cross the magic 700 threshold. Many many students have excellent materials, but only 10% cross that threshold. It's nothing to take for granted.

Does all this make sense?
Mike :-)

I have to say that your moneyback guarantee sounds like music to me. 690 would fulfill my expectations - though 700 would be an amazing accomplishment. I will take a look at your website.
