Hi Folks,

I'm in need of some guidance on my GMAT preparation.

I gave my first attempt on March 28th with no preparation and scored 460( Q31, V22). The mere purpose for this attempt was self assessment. Initially I thought that if I can score 460 without studies, then with little more studies, I could easily achieve 600 to get into my dream school.

After this I didn't touch GMAT at all and neither did any preparation only to revive it 2 weeks ago. I gave a mock test today at a proctored center and scored 490 (Q32, v25) which is far from my goal of 600+.

Since Its been a while since I graduated (2011) and with full time work it's been bit challenging for me. I am already at a point where I'm thinking if I'd ever be able to reach my goal.

I'd really appreciate some guidance and tips from the people who are going through and have been through the GMAT journey. It would also be helpful to know on how much time I should be aiming for realistic expectations.

thanks in advance.

Following are the details on my GMAT preparation

Total Time spent: Around 50 hours (not in continuity)

Resources used:
** Magoosh GMAT video tutorials
** Free practice tests from multiple vendors
** GMAT official guide bundle 2018 (not completed)
** GMAT club tests ( recently purchased)
** manhatten prep sentence correction (not completed)
Don't understand your post. Your profile shows a verified GMAT score of 720. Why are you then making a post of 460? Did you already get the 720 so is this post no longer valid, but then why is it dated today?

Let's assume your 460 is indeed the case. Here is what I've done:

Verbal: I am a native English speaker. Do not know if you are. I started off in V35 or so. I ONLY used the official 2018 guides and did every problem over and over until I understood why the correct answer is the correct answer.
Quant: I used GMATClub tests and the official guide. Same as above. I made sure to understand every correct answer so I could learn.

That's my advice - make sure you understand why the correct answer is the correct answer. I feel many people do not do this and simply move on.

lol. I think you caught one of the fake users in this forum.

I see so many reviews, questions, and debrief stories with the same style.
