Hello everyone, I want to share my experience during the Onling GMAT - I took the exam 2 days ago and I am currently waiting for the score.
I took the optional break after the Verbal section, asked the proctor the permission to leave the room and came back in 2-3 minutes, everything was fine.
Since I still had 1 minute available, I decided to wait and rest my mind as long as possible. When the countdown got to zero, I clicked on "End break" and was immediately prompted to the IR section. Actually I was 2 seconds overdue, but everything looked ok.
At some point, while I was at IR question 6, I was contacted by the proctor via chat. She asked me whether I was still on break. "No - I answered - I am doing IR". She replied that as far as she could see I appeared still on break. I reiterated I was doing IR, specifying I was on question 6. At some point she asked me what IR meant (!) and I literally replied "Intergrated Reasoning - Please let me work now" as I found quite irritating having to reply such a silly question on the chat while the time kept going on.
I totally lost my concentration at least 2-3 times on question 6, every time having to restart reasoning from scratch but with 30 seconds lost and under an increasing pression.
As a general rule, it would probably be fairer if the time stopped when the chat is open, or at least when the chat is commenced by the proctor.
