GMAT score status updated as technical error

Question

Hi All,
 Bunuel  ,  GMATNinja  ,  bb  ,
I had appeared for GMAT online test on 29th August 2021.
I faced late response and lagging issues in the test and reported the same to mba.com.
I received a mail stating that they will review the exam video. And on 4th September, I received another mail with test voucher and my test status was updated to 'technical error'.
But I don't want to appear for another attempt, as the application deadlines are approaching, I don't have enough time for another attempt.
Also I just wanted to give the exam feedback and didn't request for score cancellation.
So, I requested them to provide a valid score report for this attempt itself.
But I haven't received any response, and not able to contact them on the numbers provided on the site.

Can someone please suggest what can be done?
This is a big concern for me.
Also if anyone was able to contact GMAC, please help me with a number (I am from India).

Hi @elevateV- Why did you report the issue? 
It seems you got what you wanted? (they acknowledged technical difficulties and provided you with an option to retake, and canceled your score). The way it would work is you would either get a free retake or the score. Usually you can't get both (though a number of times people reported getting both but it would not be right really and you can't expect it).

bb the problem is that elevateV faced technical issues while giving the exam and could not finish the AWA section which could result in low score in that section. She does not wish to retake the exam but want the technical issue to reflect with the score so that low score in AWA could be explained.

I don’t think it works that way. I’m definitely not going to claim to be able to read GMAC‘s mind. I don’t think anyone can but usually you either get a score or you get a technical problem. You don’t get both. I’ve only seen it in a very binary form either one or the other but not both. Things may change and again I’m not claiming that I know everything or can peek behind the curtain, But the outcome appears to be very logical to me.

The way to handle situations like these, would’ve been an optional essay in the application. The business school would get a copy of the AWA and they would be able to see for themselves… But if you claim to have technical difficulties, I and you get a free voucher to retest, then your score will get canceled….

For whatever it's worth, I agree with bb on this. GMAC's systems aren't generally built to accommodate the type of nuance you're looking for here, so if you liked your composite score, just run with it, and don't worry about the error.

AWA isn't generally a big deal in admissions, so just explain it in the optional essay, and maybe offer to retake the exam if your target schools really want to see a higher score. You could also just retake the exam anyway so that they can see a higher AWA score, even if your other section scores go down -- but that seems like way more effort than it's worth.

The score was reinstated upon request and the voucher was deactivated. 
As suggested, I will mention the AWA case in the optional essay.

 I have given my GMAT exam on 8jan 2024 at 7pm due to some server issues the lockdown browser was not downloaded it taken much time than usual and the proctor told me to reschedule your appointment and left and I have mailed the same to mbacom will I get refund or reschedule

Hi,
 Didn't get any reply for that mail it's been 4 days and also examity team is saying that your exam is processed and incomplete so you cannot reschedule it better to contact mbacom for refund they told, but there is no reply from mbacom
