No you cannot

Lol..

I think what Apoko wants to say is, "If those two numbers are all there is to you, then no, you cannot. If there is more, then yes, you can".

I visited on a Friday to one of the only classes offered - Negotiations - with a fantastic and renowned professor. Before class, I chatted with a few students who gave me their e-mail and were more than willing to talk about Wharton, the admissions process, etc.

What was interesting in the class is that the TA specifically asked me to prepare a case - rather than just listen. We started out class discussing some of the concepts of the main book for the class (which I recommend reading regardless if you get in wharton or not), and helped solve a student's own negotiation problem, which was a pretty funny conversation. The students seemed engaged and very collegial.

Then, for around an hour, we broke into groups of 2 to negotiate. The negotiating part was cool and all, but what I was impressed with was how helpful the students were. The person I partnered with was genuinely interested in my plans and even introduced me to other students who were going the route I hoped to go. After class, a couple students even came up to me. I walked back to the train station with another helpful student.

This totally sounds like you were lucky to sit on Prof. Stuart Diamond's negotiation class. He is amazing! I am in his book Getting More https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/030771 ... 0307716899 on page 42.

Thank you for the recommendation - just bought myself for Christmas.

just a random comment about the stats on the first page. Are the "invited to interview" numbers constantly shrinking as people change their statuses as they proceed through the process? Seems like it's shrunken to under 20% when it was originally over 30%.

If so, wouldn't this not be as helpful as a static snapshot of the total invited and subsequent trickle down through the admissions funnel.

Yes, ppl who are 'invited' so they are switching over to 'interviewed'.

Hi everyone,

I am having trouble finding the Wharton Recommendation Questions for this year to send to my recommenders in advance. Does anyone know where I may find them?

Thanks!

How long have you known the applicant and describe your relationship to the applicant?
Provide an example of constructive feedback you have provided to the applicant. How did the applicant receive this feedback and what efforts did the applicant make to address the concern?
Please provide an example of a time when the applicant was particularly successful at interacting with others in a team (employees, peers, managers, etc.); how was the applicant successful? How does the applicant compare to his/her peers in this dimension?
How has the applicant’s career progressed over the time that you have known him/her? How does this growth compare to his/her peer group? Please describe the peer group that you are comparing this applicant.
Provide any additional comments you think would assist the Admissions Committee in making its decision.

And there also a table that your rec provider have to rate you.

I read the thread from last year and it looked like there were only calls on/after the decision day. Not everyone who gets in gets a call, but most did...and everyone's status is updated online/everyone gets an email on the decision day. For R1 last year there were a lot of waitlists...

hogwarts, how do you mean a lot of applicants were WL'd last R1? Do you mean they gave out proportionately less acceptances in favor of WL in R1 (that Wharton accepted less than 1/3 of the class in r1)?

Go back and read last year's thread, at least the posts from around this time last year. (It's entertaining reading, trust me!). It looked like way more people on GmatClub were waitlisted than accepted in R1. But who knows what they will do this year! I'd rather get a WL than a ding :)

man i just went through last years posts like you said. very entertaining. i wonder if that's how W does it every year? dont think i read any sort of consensus on that point.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how W decides to sort through their applicants this year.

quick application question:

Under "Education and Transcripts", Im not really sure how to approach the "Awards" section under my "Primary Undergrad Degree" info. I have some awards and a handful of dean's list / presidents scholar awards, should I just list them? Or should an applicant be more inclined to list it and then explain it?

How does what goes in this section differ from what will be on my resume?

Also, I did a year in community college before transferring to my primary undergrad where I received my degree. I should be listing this community college under "school information 2", correct?

Make sure the dates show continuity of your education.

For grade reports, I have filled in the excel template that is provided in the application form. Can you please let me know whether I need to mail my official transcript to Wharton before the decision release date or I can mail it any time afterwards (provided I get acceptance)?

Thank you.
