Anyone who is going to have his/her interview in London on 15 Feb?

I'll arrive around 9 AM at Stansted airport. I've booked a rental car. Maybe we can share the cost?

Have you driven in London before? Getting into Picadilly is going to be a nightmare. I would suggest taking the train into the city(~1 hour), then the Tube into Picadilly. Let me know if you need help figuring out the train schedule (but I would warn against driving in London!)

got an invite, registered for London...
but not sure whether to go. Just accidentally noticed on their site that they do not provide loans without US cosigner, while I was more that sure they do.
Can someone confirm that they canceled this option?

what the hell!!! when did they change that!

https://www.wharton.upenn.edu/mba/admiss ... ograms.cfm

I feel sort of defrauded. If i knew that I wouldnt have applied and I clearly remember when they visited here saying that they only require the students to provide 10% of the total cost, and I remembered I checked their website before applying
Yes, this is a very recent outcome.

Wharton has had a break in the tie-up that they had for intl students for non-cosignor loans. Even the current students have been asked to look at other options. I think they have an obligation till Feb2012 i.e. this month. After that, all students will have to fend for themselves. I was told about this by one of their 1st year students during a coffee chat in Dec.

However, I hope that they are able to iron out the differences and resume the loans. Else, a very very small percentage of us would be able to afford to study at Wharton.

Hoping for the best,
Sam

does a fellowship lock you into anything as far as recruiting or class selection? Or is it just free $$?

I would second this. Renting a car in London is not needed and in fact will make you life more difficult. Take the Stansted Express to the city for about £25 round trip, if you book through ryanair. Driving into London alone will cost you a £10 congestion tax.

The Tube in London is probably the best mass transit system in the world, with multiple lines going to Picadilly.

I'm not sure where you've gotten your information from, but I think it's pretty clear that there is plenty of time left to receive an interview invitation. I'm also in the boat with everyone playing the R2 waiting game, but it's way too early to be making blanket statements like this. I'm in agreement with @Cheetarah about all of the premature pessimism. There are still 3 weeks for interview invites to come out.

I agree. Especially if you are based out of the US. They seem to be really lagging on US-based invites.

umm.. lagging is putting it mildly. so total application i have seen on BTG and this board = ~2000 of which ~50% are US based. so out of 1000 we have seen 1 US invite. If Wharton gets 6000 apps out of which 3000 are US... its highly unlikely they are only going to interview 3 US applicants.

Take away == hold your horses and pessimism.

I registered for 10th MAy HUb Interview in Mumbai. But havent got a confirmation email. Anyone with similar experience?

Registered for 10th Mar as well. Got an error message, but when I checked back online and clicked on Events, it showed my schedule so it should be fine.

For those wondering, Mumbai dates were for Mar 8-10 while Delhi dates were the week after (Mar 15-17).
@ espee and cholomaputol,

I got to know from a rd2 invitee that the Mumbai dates are 12-14 Mar, while u both have said 8-10 Mar! Is it possible that they are actually interviewing right through from 8-14 Mar with a break on Sunday (11 Mar)? Can't make out any other logical explanation than this.

Can all the Indian (and especially Mumbai) invitees give the dates that they have scheduled their interview for?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Sam

I believe they added some interview slots given the high volume of interviewees internationally. When I went online to schedule my interview, all Asian centers except Dubai were taken, so I emailed the admissions office asking for a clarification. They indicated that they would be opening up slots in India and China, so guess the additional dates are what they were referring to.

Hope that clarifies. :)
