I'm happy to respond.
My friend, what is the source of this question? I know a great deal about Euclidean geometry, and I trying to remember if I have ever seen the word "median" applied to a trapezoid. This is not a common well-defined term in geometry, at least in the States. A median in a triangle has a precise definition. I assume by "median" in a trapezoid, one means the line connecting the midpoints of the two legs? That would make sense, and that would produce an OA of (C). The trouble is, I don't think we can use just the word "median" and expect GMAT test takers to come to that understanding. The challenge of the GMAT Quant section is not to know the precise meaning of obscure or little used vocabulary. Does all this make sense?

Median of a Trapezoid
The median (also called a midline or midsegment) is a line segment half-way between the two bases.
The median's length is the average of the two base lengths: m = (a+b )/2
You can calculate the area when you know the median, it is just the median times the height:
Area = mh
So Answer is "C"
