What is the Importance of IR for applications

Hello,
I wrote asking about the same yesterday as well.

Is it worth allocating my attention to IR while I'm running on a deadline to complete my GMAT.

Should I just focus on quant and verbal sections?

Probably depends on the school. INSEAD, for example, specifically addresses the IR (on its website). Might help to know the kind of schools you are applying to.

At the minimum, do the IR section whenever you take a practice test.
IR does not need any verbal or quant knowledge other than what you need for Verbal or Quant. 
You should be familiar with the question formats and the interface, and you should have a time-management plan. Most people skip a few questions.

The good news is that many topics tested in IR actually stem from quant and verbal. So, if you feel good about the quant and verbal sections, IR should not be super difficult for you. Thus, rather than skipping IR prep all together, once you complete your quant and verbal prep, make sure you practice a good number of IR questions, so you get familiar with those question types. That way you at least have a shot of getting a decent IR score.

I covered this topic during a YouTube session with seven of the T-15 schools. The consensus was that an IR won't disqualify you if you don't score well, but you should always try your hardest and you should never leave it blank.
