Based the graph the following are the sequences:

Number 1 is rolled 3 times, number 2 is rolled 4 times,umber 3 is rolled 4 times, number 4 is rolled 3 times, number 5 is rolled 3 times and number 6 is rolled 3 times for a total of 20 numbers.

or in other words: 1,1,1,2,2,2,2,3,3,3,3,4,4,4,5,5,5,6,6,6

Thus the median = $$\frac{T_{10}+T_{11}}{2}$$ = $$\frac{3+3}{2} = 3$$. B is the correct answer.

Since the question asks for the median, you can ignore the frequency. Median = (3+4) / 2 = 3.5

>> got it, wrong answer ...

Correct would be 3

reto, why will you ignore the frequency? Frequency will determine what value will you get for the 10th and the 11th terms.

As mentioned in my post above, the distribution becomes:

Number 1 is rolled 3 times, number 2 is rolled 4 times,umber 3 is rolled 4 times, number 4 is rolled 3 times, number 5 is rolled 3 times and number 6 is rolled 3 times for a total of 20 numbers.

or in other words: 1,1,1,2,2,2,2,3,3,3,3,4,4,4,5,5,5,6,6,6

Median will be the average of the 2 terms mentioned in red.

The values rolled by the white die are (3,4,4,3,3,3). Hence, the median of (3,3,3,3,4,4) would be (3+3)/2 = 3. Ans (B).

What you are quoting are not the values rolled but the frequencies.

Values rolled are from 1-6 while frequencies for white die are 3 or 4 for the above values. The question is asking about the median VALUE and not frequency!

from graph: white dice gets
number 1, 3 times
number 2, 4 times
number 3, 4 times
number 4, 3 times
number 5, 3 times
number 6, 3 times

total we have 20 times, hence median will be avg. of number on 10th and 11th time
Aces. order: 1,1,1,2,2,2,2,3,3,3,3,4,4,4,5,5,5,6,6,6

hence, median = 3

Look at just the white bars. Since there were 20 rolls, an even number, the median will be the sum of the 2 middle values divided by 2.

1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6

Since the two values are the same, the median is 3.

The correct answer choice is (B).
