In such cases follow BODMAS RULE
- B- BRACKET
- O-Of
- D-division
- M-multiplication
- A- Addition
- S-Subtraction

If no bracket is there we start from left to right
25*8÷50÷2
Let's convert all divide into multication to avoid confusion

=25*8*1/50*1/2
=2

Give kudos if it helps

Posted from my mobile device

In BODMAS ...division occurs before multiplication. so why you did multiplication first ? please clarify....
i see this equation as 25 x 8/50/2 = 8

himanshu1105 Division and multiplication ranks equally in BODMAS , so we usually go from left to right.

What is the value of 25*8÷50÷2
A) 2
B) 8
C) 10
D) 12
E) 15

Division could be converted into fraction form. Everything gets cancelled and no calculations are required.

\(25*8/50/2 = 25*\frac{8}{\frac{50}{2}} = 25*\frac{8*2}{50} = 8\)

\(25*8/50/2 = 25*\frac{8}{\frac{50}{2}} = 25*\frac{8*2}{50} = 8\)

But this is incorrect!
25*8 =200
200/50=4
4/2=2. Answer is 2

Hi VeritasKarishma,

May be there has been a small oversight by you in this solution, I also arrived at this answer and was corrected.
Please confirm if 8 is indeed the correct answer or is it 2. Thank you.

Yes, you are right. Addition and subtraction are equally ranked and multiplication and division are equally ranked so we go from left to right. So the 2 has to be in denominator only.

(25*8)/50 *(1/2) = 4/2 = 2

Recall that with PEMDAS, with multiplication and division, we work from left to right. So, we have:

200 ÷ 50 ÷ 2 = 4 ÷ 2 = 2

Answer: A
