­Hello all,

Please share what strategies you all use in deciding which questions to skip. I understand this is not a very practical question when the aim is 705+ but you somewhat lower score leaving or guessing questions without wasting much time is crucial. I hope all can learn something from this thread.

­I am still on a journey with guessing and it is not something I am completely comfortable with TBH. But here is how I approach guessing,

1. DI - I have found that TPA verbal questions are my weakest and so if I am time constrained (e.g. <1min left per question) I will tend to guess this type of question specifically.
2. Verbal - I have found that CR I will make educated guesses, based on what I can eliminate (e.g. if I can eliminate 2-3) it will be a toss up between the last two
3. Quant - I try not to guess to much here unless under significant time constraints, but I will go with the best answer that I can think of

And just to state the obvious, guessing is always good then spending a whole bunch of time and then being forced to guess easy questions down the road.

With three answer choices you can change, it’s much more forgiving now...

I actually noticed in critical reasoning that on the hard questions, I would usually pick the wrong answer when faced with the last two... so on the test, when I was stuck between two answers, I picked the one I liked the less. It felt really weird to do that but statistically, that was the right choice 2/3 of the time. Got 96th verbal percentile at the end.
