Hello,
It is great that you thinking about studying for an MBA. Age is nothing when it comes to study and achieve success. I have been to this situation many years ago when I resigned from my job and started studying MBA and now I am a reputed HR manager in Capgemini. At that time I followed Graceducation. somebody suggested me to follow them and acknowledge more knowledge. They provided me with materials and supplements for study and also guides which helped me a lot to get admitted into best college and achieve success.

Hello, mani5084u,

Thanks for your post and sorry for a late response. This thread went live but we had not formally started the partnership with GMAT Club; hence, we refrained from replying.

Yours is a common query and several members participating in the forum may have it; hence, we decided to have a dedicated post for it. Please find an organized, 10-steps approach for preparing for GMAT. The post will also give you guidelines on how to choose the best GMAT course for yourself.

I hope this will help.

All the best!

HI,

I am a serving Commissioned officer in Indian Navy, I am about to complete my service of 10 years next year and planning to leave the service after completing 10 years. I am planning to take GMAT to get admission into top MBA schools. I request advise of the experts to guide me where to start from.

Hello mani5084u,

It's always exciting to start something new! Your experience with the Indian Navy will be valued at top Schools and you can definitely create an interesting case around it.

To get started here is what I would suggest

1. Try to take a mock test from www.mba.com : https://www.mba.com/gmat-mini-quiz ( This will give you an idea of the test)

2. Make sure you focus on a structured preparation. If you are looking at an Online Course make sure you plan a schedule for yourself. What is most important in an online course is that you need to be consistent with your prep.

Since you have not been in touch with academics for so long getting yourself to sit to study and focus on the prep will be your initial challenge. Just start with 30-45 mins of prep to begin with and slowly focus on accuracy and timing. Do not overwhelm yourself with too much material. I would suggest stick to one and make sure you solve official questions from the Official Guide.

Create milestones so that you adhere to them throughout your prep.

Hope this helps,
Shree
