E. all of the above

You can clearly rule out E by noting that D is also true for 0 as well.

Addiotinally, A is the only correct answer.

According to the solution B is incorrect .i.e., 2 is not the smallest even number.

because as per the definition,
an even number is the one which can be divisible by 2........so in that case the smallest even number is $$zero$$ right?

Not really. By definition any number (positive or negative) that leaves a remainder of 0 when divided by 2 is an even number. By that definition, -2,-4,...,-10 are even as well. As such, there is no "smallest" even number as you can go till -inf .

Hope this helps.

Just have to remember with this question that 0 is neither odd nor even so

0 is neither positive nor negative, but 0 is definitely an even integer.

We can analyze each answer choice:

A) it is the only even prime number

Answer choice A is true: 2 is the only even prime number.

B) it is the smallest even number

Two is not the smallest even number, since 0 and negative even numbers are smaller.

Since answer B is not true, answer choice E, all of the above, cannot be true. Thus, A is the correct answer.

Answer: A
