Note: Multiplication of two negative number is positive.
I. −3 − (−5) = 2 (positive)
II. (− 3)(−5) = 15 (positive)
III. −5 − (−3) = -2 (negative)

From above we can see that I and II both are positive.

answer: D

I. −3 − (−5) = -3 + 5 = 2, eliminate B, C and E
II. (− 3)(−5) = 15 D is the answer, no need to calculate III
III. −5 − (−3)

I) -3 - (-5) --> -3 + 5 --> 2

So, Roman numeral I is a positive number, which means we can eliminate answer choices that don't contain I, which means we get rid of B, C, and E. Since the remaining answer choice D doesn't contain Roman numeral III, we don't have to check it, and therefore only check Roman numeral II next:

II) (-3)(-5) --> 15

Since Roman numeral II is also a positive number, the answer is D.

Apply the number property
In 1 -ve×-ve=+ve and also magnitude of 5 is bigger and sign chances to positive after opening the bracket,hence positive.

In 2 -ve×-ve=+ve

In 3 -ve×-ve=+ve sign chances to positive after opening the bracket,however the magnitude of 5 is bigger than 3,hence negative.
