Yes, they have the rights to cancel a score, if they review & see any discrepancy such as network slowness( even proctor not seeing them), issues with your/proctor's machine, webcam clarity, etc. They may not disclose sometime clearly the reasons. There are situations where proctor could have network difficulties which can cause the same problem (like power outage for few minutes etc). I think they review the entire video during the test apart from multiple parameters affecting a test, proctor is just once such parameter :wink:wink:.

Thank you sivatx2! Do you mean they will cancel MY score due to THEIR technical issue?

Your score may also be cancelled at the sole discretion of the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the global non-profit council of business schools and administrator of the GMAT exam, and/or Pearson VUE.

Such cases are rare but had happened. In fact not that long ago ( 3/4 weeks earlier) I read another post in the forum that someone got their score cancelled 3 months after getting the official report. That scenario was similar to yous (online exam, large improvement). However, in my opinion, you need not to worry, just move on.

This person posted 4 weeks ago that his score got cancelled 2.5 months after receiving the official report. Link: Cancelled score after 2,5 months
This person posted 7 weeks ago that his improved score got cancelled 1 month after receiving the official report.Link: My Score Has Been Cancelled, What Should I Do?

Again, do not worry. This CAN happen that doesn't mean WILL happen.

I took a GMAT online exam and then received the official score report. After three-month hard-working, I improved the score by more than 100. I am now a little worried about GMAC will cancel my online score due to the huge increase. Did anyone know whether GMAC will cancel the score after they send out the official score report?
Hi tgbhu5,

As SalahT pointed out, although this can happen, it isn't common. In fact, it's very rare, and not worth worrying about.

Congratulations on the score improvement, and all the best.

Hi tgbhu5,

Since the GMAT is a Standardized Test - you (and anyone else who takes it) CAN train to score at a higher level. As such, scoring significantly higher on a latter attempt is not in-and-of-itself an "issue" (and since GMAC makes a significant amount of money from those GMATers who pay to take the Exam more than once, it wouldn't make much sense for that organization to dis-incentivize that group from paying to take those additional attempts). All things considered, you should assume that your Official Score is valid and will remain so for 5 years from the date you took your Exam.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

Hi tgbhu5,

If your only concern is that you had a 100 point score increase, then no, I do not think you need to be worried about GMAC canceling your score.
