My full time work experience is broken up like so: 2 years at a firm + 1 internship (2.5 - 3 months) + 1 internship (2.5 - 3 months) = ~2.5 years.
I worked part-time during one of my full time internships for almost the length of the internship.
How would I list the total number of years worked?
Should I round it to 3 or make it 2 and sell myself short?
EDIT: Additionally, the payment structure for my internships was different from the payment structure for an actual employee of the firm. Interns were paid much lower. For the annualized salary should I use the full time employee payment structure?

Most schools don't consider internship when counting work experience. So, read school-specific instructions to be sure. Moreover, schools usually allow workex to be rounded by month, in which case you won't need to round off.

Wharton told me that internships do count but their application says that they want it rounded to the whole number. That's why I'm a little confused about which way to go. Whether I should do it up or down.
If the instructions leave room for multiple interpretations, it's prudent to be on conservative side (lower side). A better way is to ask them about your particular situation.

Thanks a lot for the response. I'll reach out to them as seek some clarification.
I had 2 more questions: - The payment structure for my internships was different from the payment structure for an actual employee of the firm. Interns were paid much lower. For the annualized salary should I use the full time employee payment structure? - HR title vs. Functional Job Title on the application resume? While HR had a specific descriptor for me, I am considering using a title that better reflects what I actually did aka functional title. Is that normally done?

Assume that the schools will check all details you give them if you are accepted. This means using real pay (in general lying is not viewed well) and titles that your HR function would recognise you as when asked by the school.

Wharton stated in its application form to specify if the HR title differed from the business card title or job title in parenthesis. I took this to mean that they recognize that people use a functional title on their resume and in day to day life. Thoughts?
