Hello fellow members,
Today, while giving the GMAT I received a complete shocker during the verbal section. No, it wasn't a CR, SC or RC question sent from Mars but it was a power cut!
A power cut that lasted for almost the complete duration of the verbal section. Although, most of you must be saying to yourself "Huh ... you must be joking as there is always a back up of some sort.", but, my friends when you are in India, even if there is a backup it just works for the computers and the tube-lights
. Yes, you heard me right folks, there was even no backup for the fan, let alone the air conditioning system
.
Much to my surprise and shock, for almost 10 to 15 mins the test center was as dark as the entrance to the Batcave (guess the usage was correct there) and the only thing that one can see was his screen and the only thing one can hear was the beeping of computers. During this time, I almost felt like walking off and canceling my scores.
Now, in order to help the future test takers of this center (and get my revenge), I am planning to launch an official complain against the center and try my best to get it debarred from the Pearson list.
I'll be very thankful if any expert can guide me in this regard.
(I managed a 710 which I believe could easily have been a 740. But, as they say GMAT is just a very small aspect of one's application and I believe that a 740 is not much different from a 710, speaking in terms of adcom)
Cheers,
R
