2) Take GMAT in April to beat Q44 once and for all.

nink - isn't a 770 already a good 100 pts higher than the avg for yale?

As for me, I'm just doing enough at work to not get fired for a few more months, then I'll take some time off before moving to Evanston in August.

My plan is to work till the bitter end, and continue to collect pay checks. The way I see it, for the last month or so, noone is really going to expect me to do anything anyway. By then, hopefully my handpicked successor will be on board and we can do a "transition".

Apparently, if one looks asian ( or can pass for an asian), he/she must have an asian-like quant score.

Seriously though, if you are doing it because you think companies will care, they won't.

I am not. I highly doubt they will ask me for the breakout.
I am only doing it because I think I can beat Q44.

I didn't really study quant part much before I took the exam.

Secondly, every time I look at my dog, it kinda like he is laughing at me about it.....

If you can maintain your V score and improve your Q in a low pressure GMAT you might get the 800!

however, I don't think you should spend your time on the GMAT - might as well spend the time/money on CFA level 2...but if you're going to - good luck!

I am focusing on my current work project and reading up on some IB related titles. I am also spending some time comparing apartments in different Chicago neighborhoods, picking out a B-school laptop and deciding when to give notice to my employer. I'll probably end up working through the end of July and move to Chicago mid-August.

After seeing the "student budget" I will probably never put in my two weeks and just wait and see if the paychecks stop coming.

BTW if you're serious about raising your Q score, don't bother. With a V score that high, even a huge rise in Q will only marginally raise your total score. But I doubt you're serious.

Anyone is trying to get fired around the August time frame so they can collect unemployment for the next 6 months, and then go to school instead

I don't believe that you can collect unemployment if you are attending graduate school of any sort. You have to be actively searching for a job. Otherwise the gov't might come after you for fraud. But then again, with this mess, I doubt that they would even notice. Plus, if TIMMEH Geithner can evade taxes, why can't you fraudulently accept unemployment compensation???
