Full Time MBA

Experience during the program

I am having a wonderful learning experience at GWU so far. Career coaches are very helpful and always strive to find career opportunities for students. In last three months, we had four career fairs at GWU, in which more than 50 companies visited our campus, and many students applied for internships and jobs. In my class almost every student has received scholarship between 20k to 100k; scholarship has substantially brought down my program cost as I have a decent GMAT score. GWU also has a strong alumni network; alumni frequently visit school and meet us in events, sharing their experiences with us. Programs curriculum is recently revised, and it is very much up to date. Professors of strategy, accounting, data analysis, and decision making classes (in first sem) are exceptionally good; they have lot of industry experience; some of them are from well known schools such as INSEAD and MIT. Location of GWU is also advantageous; those who want to involve in federal consulting and political campaigning can find lot of opportunities here. As DC is one of the most powerful and influential cities, many famous personalities, leaders, etc come to participate in events, where you can see or meet them. Compared to other US cities D.C is very neat and clean and quality of life is better here. I have recently applied for internships and expecting for a positive outcome.

About job placement process

As I am interested in consulting field, I can share some information about consulting firms that visit GWU. Deloitte federal consulting is one of the major recruiter, but it only recruits US citizens who can easily get security clearance. Booz Allen Hamilton and PwC also come to GWU and they recruit international students as well. Apart from these well known companies, many startup consulting firms also come to GWU. So overall there are opportunities for everyone; if you want to work for startups there are many options to choose from.

Experience during the program

GWU MBA program is truly global with a lot of international students. The curriculum is designed for students to have global experiences , especially the signature Consulting Abroad program. The school's frequent visitors are public/ federal orgs so if you are international students , you might face a hard time looking for private firm's job. The location of Washington DC helps you exposed to different people and good speakers. They can range from politicians, influencers, businessman. DC helped you network with people from all over the world. GW MBA students are also very supportive to each other. You will see an environment not as competitive as top 10 school.
