Would make the product better:
The essay drafting process was very thorough and sometimes intensive, which can feel overwhelming if you are balancing school or work at the same time. I would recommend building in more structured checkpoints earlier in the process for applicants who tend to over-edit their essays like I did. However, the detailed revisions ultimately strengthened my applications significantly.
I found Greg and Avanti Prep through Reddit back in 2025 while researching admissions consultants for specialized Master in Finance programs. I was looking for personalized support, especially because I came from a somewhat unconventional profile for top finance programs. I had a strong international background, over 12 months of internship experience, solid recommenders, and a 3.7 GPA, but I was worried about not being “quant-heavy” enough for top programs. I also did not want to take the GMAT or GRE due to timing constraints.
My goal was to target top business schools in the U.S. for Master in Finance programs, and Greg helped me build a clear and realistic application strategy from the start. More importantly, he pushed me to deeply reflect on my personal story and positioning instead of trying to fit into a generic finance applicant mold.
Greg paired me with Sarah from the Avanti team for essay development, and we spent a lot of time refining the narrative and structure of my applications. While the essays were completed relatively early, what really helped was having multiple rounds of feedback from Greg, Sarah, and even my family members afterward. I ended up rewriting and improving many parts of the essays before submitting, but the process itself gave me a very strong strategic foundation and taught me how to communicate my story effectively.
During the application process, I initially received admission to another strong program and almost stopped applying elsewhere. Greg encouraged me to continue aiming higher, and I ended up submitting a last-minute application to a top-tier finance program. Shortly afterward, I received an interview invitation.
The interview preparation was honestly one of the most valuable parts of the experience. Greg had researched the interview style extensively and prepared me with highly targeted questions based on previous applicants’ experiences. Out of the seven questions I was asked during the interview, five had already been covered during our preparation sessions. Because of that, I walked into the interview feeling confident, prepared, and aware of what the interviewer was likely looking for. He even helped draft my thank-you email afterward.
After my admission, my GPA unfortunately dropped from around a 3.7 to a 3.5 during my final semester in a very rigorous international double-degree program. I was extremely stressed about how to communicate this to admissions and later during verification processes. Greg once again guided me through the strategy, helped draft thoughtful responses, and advised me on the best approach to handle the situation professionally and transparently.
Overall, I found Greg extremely supportive, strategic, responsive, and genuinely invested in my success. One thing I particularly appreciated was that the support did not stop once the official package hours were over. Across the process, I received many complimentary services including multiple consultations, school mapping, interview prep follow-ups, additional essay reviews, admissions communication strategy, resume guidance, and support during verification and GPA-related discussions.
In total, I enrolled in a 15-hour package, but Avanti ultimately provided more than 25 hours of actual support and guidance throughout the process. Considering the level of personalization and long-term support I received, I found the service very affordable and absolutely worth it.
I would highly recommend Greg and Avanti Prep to anyone applying to competitive graduate business programs, especially candidates with nontraditional profiles who need help crafting a compelling story and strategic application approach.
