The only time available on the day that I wanted was for later in the afternoon. Which was fine by me. However, the late afternoon staff consisted of two older individuals who seemed to be well over 60 years of age and didn't seem to understand how anything worked in the testing center.

The older gentleman checking me in asked for a second form of photo ID, which I didn't have. I pointed out to him on the GMAT instructions given to me by him, that I only needed one form of identification. He proceed to tell me that he couldn't let me take the test anyway. At this point I asked him where this rule was published, to which he had no logical response and proceed to give me the authoritative "because I said so" themed speech. I cut him off mid-sentence and told him I was going to call GMACs information 800 phone number. After hearing this he seemed to come off of his high horse and say "well I guess I'll proceed with checking you in, and if the computer asks for a second form of ID then I guess there's nothing I can do and you can't take the test".... WHAT?! All of this bull crap about needing a second form of ID for a solid 10 minutes of back and forth argument, only for him to not even have started the check in process. Which spoiler alert, only required one form of ID!!!

The second +60 year old individual was running the monitoring station and testing area entry. This lady moved at a snails pace and was extremely loud both inside the inclosed computer area and outside! If took her nearly 5 minutes to respond to my hand rise for a new marker because her book seemed more important to her then her job. Then had the audacity to get mad at me when I stood up 3 minutes into my break to get her attention because she was once again reading her book. Then proceed to take 4 minutes to check me back into the inclosed testing area. She acted as if she'd never used a computer before in her life. Thank God I didn't have to go to the bathroom, I would have ran out of time.

The both of them during my test keep yelling back and forth between the front desk and monitoring area. I could hear them inside of the inclosed testing area through my ear plugs! The older lady also had zero voice control inside of the inclosed testing area. She spoke at the top of her voice to person about the instructions screen.

Then at the very end of all of this, the older guy at the front desk didn't know how to operate the printer or the computer to give me a copy of my score. He proceed to tell me that he'd never heard of someone taking my test getting a printed score. The lady next to me was nearly in tears because she needed a copy of her exam results for her job requirements the next day. Zero effort was given to figure the situation out or look into the cause. At this point the older lady had left her monitoring station and joined in on the conversation. Neglecting all of the other active test takers. After several minutes we all hear a loud "Hello?, I'm finished with my test!" Someone had wondered out of the testing area for help because no one was paying attention to the monitors.

NCBMS Islamabad

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by post count [?]

My experience is detailed at the thread linked at the end fo this review. Here are the few issues I faced.

1- The first address that shows up on Google maps when you search NCBMS, ICT is their old campus.

2- The test center is a low ceiling claustrophobic rented space not suited for an engaging test like GMAT.

3- Where they sit you to verify your palm prints, there were overheated lead acid UPS batteries and their acid fumes gave me a nasty headache.

4- The mouse pad skin was flaking off. Even the replacement was not up to the mark. Do not choose this center if you have any other option.

5- The Pens did not work initially. Replacements worked for a bit and then stopped working. I found out I had to keep them running constantly or they would dry up even after a few seconds of lying idle.

6- Official Graph Paper was scratched and dust laden which made it hazy and difficult to read.

7- Toilets were outside the premises of the test center outside the locked door. There was no toilet paper and the state of the toilet was appalling. It was in no way fit for human use.

That's absolutely horrific. I am glad I booked my test with USEFP in Islamabad instead of these guys.

Horrible center

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

Horrible horrible center. The bathrooms sucked. During the exam, the lights went off. The invigilator is not at all professional. The stationary provided was stinky. Initially, the pens provided were not working so I had to tell them to replace it. There were no lockers to keep your belongings, they just made us keep it in some drawer. The invigilator is busy talking on the phone most of the time during the exam. He is only available during the breaks. The AC doesn't work properly. It is not noisy but overall it is a horrible center. Try and avoid this center if possible.

Overcrowded

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I took the GMAT twice at this test centre. On the first occasion, the test centre was acceptable, cold, dull, but nothing unexpected. The second time however was a completely different experience. On that day, the test centre was overcrowded with 15-20 other people, most taking some Pearson English exam and some taking the LNAT. I believe that I may have been the only person taking the GMAT. Apart from inadequate staffing, they were also training a new staff member and given the number of people in the centre, there was hardly enough standing room - definitely not an ideal situation to be in if you were about to take a test that requires a calm collected approach. The place was noisy despite the no talking regulations and with so many people, became quite stuffy. During the test, there was a lot of movement due to the number of people and this made concentrating on the test somewhat difficult.

All in all, I wouldn't recommend this test centre if you had a choice. There is another test centre in Melbourne located at Melbourne Business School (within their library). The place is way more conducive for such a test.

Avoid !!

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

The location of this place to the exam conditions everything is worthless just avoid this place.
I had to give my test here and it was so distracting and uncomfortable for me to give test here. The place is located in a market area where there is ample car noise and honking sounds coming from outside. To add to it I was sitting next to a window which had pigeons sitting outside and making noises and hustling next to the window.
There are four computers cramped in a small place...there is hardly any place to keep the pad comfortably which is quite disappointing. I don't even know how pearson vue can consider this as a testing centre. It should be removed.

Winsoft Computer might just be the worst GMAT testing centre. I had my test in the mid of September 2017 and my experience was highly disappointing. Below are the series of events that took place during the test -

1. While I was on the 5th question from the last of the first section (Quant), the computers in the lab hanged and so did the exam abruptly in the middle while I was taking my test. After restarting the server and the computers when the test administer logged me back into the test, it had already skipped about 3-4 minutes in the process, affecting all the remaining questions in the section. This was the first big calling that I may not be getting the desired score for which I have worked really hard in the last couple of months, and was never expecting this to happen in the first place.

2. After the break- before starting the section 2, which was Verbal, the system of the candidate sitting behind me started to have some issues due to which the administrator and other staff members assembled to resolve the issue, creating a lot of disturbances in the lab. This disturbance kept increasing with their constant discussions, speaking on phone regarding the issue and noises due to repeated entering/leaving the lab, and didn't stop for the whole 75 minutes of my Verbal section. This hugely impacted my attention towards the test. It was so disturbing that I had to go through the questions multiple times just trying to understand in the noise. I had to skip many questions as well due to the loss of time. This was the second calling that things weren’t going as desired, and out of all things there is a bare minimum expectation of how the test-taking environment be which should be standard across the globe.

To everybody taking the test from Chandigarh area, please AVOID this centre!
