Strengths:
The real strength of TTP is that it allows its users to really master the fundamentals. The course follows a very structured path that has obviously been researched extensively. It flows seamlessly, allowing the user to master one principle before moving onto the next, forging an understanding of the material that I haven't seen in other prep products.
Would make the product better:
I think more alternative ways of solving problems would be helpful in accommodating learning style of different test takers. One of the reasons I loved GMAT Club so much was that it offered an open forum for users to explain how they arrived at answer choices, rather than a "one size fits all" approach. Scott and the team do a very good job explaining how they think about and solve the problems in DI and Q sections, but there are myriad ways to solve these problems, some offering huge time saving capabilities
Overall, I wouldn't have scored what I did without TTP. The course gave me a deep understanding of the foundation principles GMAT tests users on, and it allowed me to delve deeper into how to maximize my score in certain areas. It has a near flawless UX that doesn't distract the user from the content at hand, unlocking more capacity to understand exactly what you need to learn. I would recommend the Self Study program to anyone who is starting their process with the GMAT Focus preparation, specifically if they start early enough (it is a lot of content). The practice questions and explanations allow for timed practice in addition to untimed practice of concepts. It was a fantastic tool!
Strengths:
Exceptional study plan structure: Concepts are broken down into clear thematic sections and the study plan is very comprehensive. Having a well-defined plan removed the guesswork and made me sure I haven't missed anything.
Great explanations: Each topic is supported by examples that also explain the whole reasoning process.
Good balance between theory and practice: The platform strikes a good balance between concept courses and question-grinding, which was exactly what I needed.
Would make the product better:
The course is quite extensive, especially in Quant, and some sections can feel long. For candidates on a very tight timeline, this may be challenging.
That said, the depth is also what makes TTP effective. I personally preferred having more detail.
I initially prepared using the Official GMAT Guides for about three months, doing a large volume of questions. My first mock score was 605, and my first official GMAT score was 615. At that point, I knew that Quant was my main weakness because I lacked structure and some specific strategies that I couldn't learn by just doing questions.
After switching to Target Test Prep, my preparation completely changed. The platform helped me identify a clear study plan and methodically fix weaknesses instead of practicing blindly. After around one month using TTP, I retook the GMAT Focus and scored 745.
What TTP does exceptionnally well is that it provides the clear structure needed to solve many questions in a systematic fashion, where many strategies especially in the Quant section will save you a lot of time on exam day. If Quant is holding you back and you’re looking for a serious, results-driven preparation tool, TTP is absolutely worth it.
Strengths:
The verbal was surpisingly very good, they helped me nail it. They do a good job of breaking down the fundamentals and helping you build a path to the score you want. They also had great back end support.
Would make the product better:
Sometimes I found myself spending too much time on material that was realistically never going to be on the exam, and it was hard to discern that while going through the course sometimes.
I would recommend this course to anyone taking the GMAT Focus. I got more score goal and then some and am very pleased with their support, knowledge building process, and psychological support as I tried to crack the exam. They truly have all their bases covered in the prep and the results showed it. I had several issues as well at the test center (@Pearson Learning) and TTP also helped me understand and plan for some of the logistical hangups that happened, so ultimately I could focus on the test. Finally, verbal became the backbone of my score unexpectedly, and I think the course does an excellent job at breaking down the concepts and getting you to a point where you can trust your prep and just let it rip. Thank you TTP!
Strengths:
It cleanly lays out exactly what to study and how to break up topics. There were no topics in the test that I feel weren't covered by TTP's course, and just having a program laid out for me to follow was incredible in terms of the mental and logistical energy it saved me during a process where you have many competing priorities and timelines.
Would make the product better:
Nothing will prep you for the style of the GMAT questions except official questions, if you are looking for that specifically then you will need to just get official questions. Also if there's a way to somehow shorten the course without losing too much of the quantitative content, that would be good.
It cleanly lays out exactly what to study and how to break up topics. There were no topics in the test that I feel weren't covered by TTP's course, and just having a program laid out for me to follow was incredible in terms of the mental and logistical energy it saved me during a process where I had many competing priorities and timelines. That in and of itself was worth the money if you are able and don't want to spend hours and hours trying to figure out a study plan. Of course, nothing will prep you for the style of the GMAT questions except official questions, if you are looking for that specifically then you will need to just get official questions, however this is a complementary/precursor course that in my opinion, prepped me for the official questions and guide as those were not helpful in the slightest in teaching you what and how to study.
Strengths:
TTP is incredibly strong when it comes to Quant & DA prep. The Verbal is thorough, but my Verbal baseline was already quite high, so I spent way more time on Quant & DA.
Cannot recommend the Live Classes enough.
Would make the product better:
More chapter tests or the ability to take questions from specific sections.
LiveTeach with Ceilidh is certainly what put me over the edge to scoring a 655 (91%). Between the regular 2x / week cadence of classes, bonding with some other GMAT hopefuls, and the instruction I was able to string together a consistent routine + third party accountability to ensure I was staying on track every week. Despite working in Finance for ten years, there was a lot of Quant that I had not used in probably 15-20 years, so I found that I needed to spend most of my time on that section. Ceilidh had fantastic tips + process to work through even the toughest problem types.
Strengths:
Very in-depth curriculum with a large quantity of exercises available. I loved particularly the custom tests, that allowed me to train my timing form and my weak points.
Would make the product better:
A separate section devoted to timing tactics. By the end of the course, while I was accurate, I had to dive in tacticts to help me be faster in quant. It would be nice to have a section for that!
The product is really on point with what I was looking for: a comprehensive and structured course that allowed me to dictate my rhythm as I go, while still keeping me on track to reach my goals. This truly is a thorough and well-designed program, which helped me jump from a base score of 500 to 675 (95th percentile). I especially recommend it for anyone who needs a clear roadmap and wants to build skills step by step, with solid explanations, smart practice, and detailed analytics that clearly show where you’re improving. The platform’s combination of flexibility, depth, and consistency makes it ideal for both beginners and high achievers aiming for top performance.
Strengths:
1 QUANT
2 Active Instructors
3 Interface is very nice and clean
4 Motivational quotes (if you're into that sort of stuff)
TTP definitely helped me tremendously when it came to Quant. I went from struggling in Quant to feeling confident and relaxed while doing the Quant section of the GMAT. The instructors there also provide help in case you're unclear of something or need guidance which helped me identify my main problem - test taking anxiety.
The course feels very long but that's the price you have to pay if you want a good score. You can't rush your GMAT prep and expect a great score. I tried some other platforms, but with confidence I can say TTP has a very easy to use and modern UI, with clear instructions and easy to follow study plan.
Finally, don't expect that getting TTP and just cruising through it will get you 705+. You have to put in work. TTP just gives you direction and structure to set you up for success.
Strengths:
Very good platform that mirrors actual gmat exam platform, organizes all your study material and schedule so you don't have to spend time on that, and can instead focus on study.
Excellent features like maintains a topic wise error log, customizable quizzes for targeted improvement across areas.
Would make the product better:
Could introduce their own mocks (with score) instead of just being able to give full length papers
Coming from a humanities background, my Quant and Data Interpretation (DI) were major weak areas when I started my preparation. TTP helped me build and strengthen that foundation through its structured lessons and analytics-driven approach. In my first mock test, taken about two months before the actual exam, I scored only 545. Recognizing that both Quant and DI needed significant improvement, I focused on targeted practice through customized tests and revisited every question I got wrong using detailed error logs. By continuously analysing my performance and addressing weak areas systematically, I was able to make steady progress and ultimately achieve a score of 695 in just four months of preparation
Strengths:
The to the point teaching on the math sections. It also does well by teaching you strategies for the test.
Would make the product better:
I'd prefer a cap on the monthly flexible option once we reach a certain number of months paying for the services, to consider it as if we bought it in full.
I had tried 2 other test prep companies prior to target Test prep. None of them where able to give me score improvements. It was disheartening to put in over 100 hours with no improvement despite learning the basic material. After using TTP I was able to get an acceptable score for the program I want all while being a parent and working full time through their flexible study option. I put in an additional 160 total hours but with strategic preparation per their recommendation. I wouldn't recommend any other test prep companies for the GMAT other than TTP. 100 point improvement is what I was able to do with just 1.5 hours a day for 4 months.
Strengths:
TTP's strengths are the customizable structure and reasonable pace. The most valuable part of learning in my opinion is the question answer review videos and text explanations. Sometimes you even get shown two ways of solving and it's so helpful to have that right there for review.
Would make the product better:
More customizable parts - like if I want to skip a section, I never figured out how to do that but mark it as "complete" so it doesn't show up on the calendar. Maybe there is a way but I could not find it. Also, the "progress" % would glitch and erase some of my progress on some random sections if I were to update the schedule. Fix glitches when updating calendar / hours.
TTP Dedicated Study helped me improve my initial practice test scores from mid-500s to an official 655 (V86, Q82, DI80) After struggling to study on my own (Youtube channels and other pathways), I decided I needed more structure to my study plan.
TTP keeps you on track, honest, and shows your progress. You don't have to decide what you're studying that day - it does that for you - so you spend no energy on gathering materials or planning. You can always look at the calendar to see what's upcoming, and if you want to study ahead or get behind, it automatically adjusts. The calendar and plan (hours per day, days avail to study) is customizable as well! (If you only want to study on the weekend, you can customize it like that). For anyone who does better with structure, TTP is worth it.
Four months was plenty of time to get through the material (spending 10-15 hrs per week) and all sections were helpful. Don't forget to book your exam in accordance with the end of your study plan.
I found the most value in two areas. First, the answer explanation videos and text after each question. It was like having your own personal tutor at your finger tips on every question. TTP put a lot of work into diversifying the material and questions to be as foundational as possible.
Second, the Theory section gave therapy-like insights on how to handle the pressure, time, stress, etc that comes along with this process. It wasn't just strong material for the exam - it was teaching you a mindful approach and how to best prepare for day-of. Again, like having your own personal GMAT coach. I found that made TTP stand out above other offerings.
