Verbal Scholarnium

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I started my preparation for GMAT in the month of December'16. By the end of December, I had completed most of the verbal study material and had built my concepts in SC, CR and RC. I was doing quite well at SC as it is based on clarity of certain rules, meaning and grammar and finally, their repeated application to different questions. I was also doing a decent job at RC by scoring somewhere around 80% of the questions correctly. The only area that pained me the most was CR. After a certain point, I had given up and was not able to understand how to improve on this particular section. Also, a challenge that GMAT throws at students is that there is a limited set of official questions available and once those questions are exhausted, you remember the logics behind most of them. My confidence was getting even lower because I had not started timing my practice sessions since I wanted to reach a minimum accuracy level in all the three sections before putting my skills to test while sitting on a time bomb.

That's when I felt the need to buy a good practice source for more such quality CR questions(and by quality I mean as close to official questions as possible). I read e-gmat Scholarnium's reviews on the GMAT club forum, Quora and certain other forums and also attended a webinar around the same. I felt the product to be fairly helpful to most of its buyers. And I couldn't thank those people more as I found the whole experience to be extremely relevant and conducive to improve my critical reasoning skills. I started with the lecture videos and practiced the quiz questions that followed after the lessons. Those 5-10 questions based on specific types will help you categorize the question type and start thinking on the lines of that specific question.

More than the concepts, the 200 problems with different difficulty levels definitely help you define a certain level of accuracy for the CR section when the questions are of all the difficulty levels(as asked during the actual test). I did create some custom quizzes towards the end of the preparation and reviewed all the questions properly. An advice to all the GMAT aspirants would be to put enormous time on building concepts and skills rather than rushing for the timed practice/mock tests. 10 mock tests(40 hours) won't help you gain as much as 40 hours of practice and reviews. Scholarnium is a brilliant tool to understand concepts and improve their application to problems. I can surely recommend this product to anyone who wants to practice more and improve at verbal.

I scored a 730 on the actual test
Breakup; V39 and Q50

All the best to all the GMAT aspirants. Please reach out in case of any specific questions.

difficult but not in the official gmat sense

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

pros: It is a good tool to know where you stand in verbal overall across cr/sc/rc.
it calculates takt time, which is quite an interesting concept-basically tells you in how much time you can expect yourself to get a correct answer. it calculates this individually for cr/sc/rc

also the ability tests tell you your weak spots in all of cr/sc/rc without wasting much of your time. So that you jump into prepping for topics that you're weak in.

it is convenient to use.

cons: the passages of cr/rc are difficult but not difficult from gmat perspective. if one has solved enough official gmat questions you'll instantly know the difference. scholaranium is great to build your skills, but stick to og questions once scholaranium has built your skills and helped you develop certain thinking patterns.

Verbal Scholaranium (Prepare for the hard, Expect the best)

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I found difficulty level and language of the questions in scholaranium a bit harder than gmat prep Hard questions. The hard questions in scholarnium are set to trap you and many times I find myself wondering is GMAT going to be that tricky? Yes they are hard questions but the answer choices are so tricky you find yourself unconvinced with the explanation there. Nevertheless, These traps just makes you better prepared for the exams and hence my title.

The good thing is they have the options such as difficulty level ,time and sections to customise your needs. But their ability quizzes are pretty good indication on your understanding of a topic and your weakness areas.

I wish they have more questions here so I can keep on attempting ability quizzes without penalising my self at a full fledged verbal test. overall this is a great resource if you aim for anything >V40.

I found difficulty level and language of the questions in scholaranium at par with gmac questions.
And different options such as difficulty level ,time and sections is helping me to prepare better and push harder.
It will be more help ful if each section e. g SC , gets bisected to different topics.
Over all it gives good Analysis of strengths nd weakne sses and elapsed time . It is certainly an essent ial tool for gmat preparation coupled with con cept videos.
I am still half way through and once i am finished with it,I will update this revi ew.

Great help

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by membership [?]

Hi All,
Along with GMAT club platform, this test series provides a great source to all the aspirants. Though I have taken only few quizzes, but I like the way in which the answers/explanation to each solution is provided. The question are well categorized. The different modes are very useful when you are just practising and not in a mood of giving exam. The flexibility of choosing no of question along with topics is of great help in practising the area of weakness. On some occasions, I felt that few questions are overrated. Rest I like the test and looking forward to fully exploit the resource.

Many thanks in advance..

Two words - Worth it !!

e-GMAT Verbal Scholaranium is a step in the right direction. When I started my prep, I was confused with varied courses provided by Multiple vendors. With no specific measure, i decided to get a feel of the courses from few vendors, eGMAT being one of them. The Free trial, free sessions by Rajat alongwith with strategy plan helped me zeroed in on e-GMAT VO course. Before starting, I was doing Good on RC, average on CR & disaster on SC. With help of Verbal Online, I was not only able to retain my strong areas, but also got free of a nightmare 'SC'. The conceptual clarity, flow of understanding from SC to RC & structure courseware from eGMAT helped me improving by 7 points in Verbal section.

Though my own study plan floundered due to only effort in Verbal, thereby impacting my overall score; I would suggest anyone aiming a 700+ to put faith in eGMAT & their complete pedagogy to achieve their goals.

In spite of that, I'm going for the courseware again to boost my scores and would get back to this post as I come out with with flying colours (Fingers crossed :-) )

Scholaranium

Quant Scolaranium is good.
It provides you with lot of questions covering all the topics.
Timer allows you to keep track of time.
You can customise the test as per your choice like setting the type of questions etc.
Post test analysis is amazing .Give you a in depth analysis of your weak points and where you need to improve.
The graphs and pie charts are also used to provide the analysis.
A very good initiative by e-gmat.
However you need to have a smooth internet connection for
scholaranium because if you get disconnected in between it will not give the correct score and analysis.
