This review is for INSEAD
Program January Intake Class of
Class of 2017
INSEAD was an amazing experience. For an American who didn't get a chance to travel to Europe, Southeast Asia, or the Middle East prior to my MBA, it was one of the most enriching experiences of my life.Academics is great and the professors are truly world class. The student body is very diverse and your peers are driven, intelligent, and fun!
I wish the career development center could do more for people that want to recruit in the US. I went to INSEAD knowing full well that i will be facing an uphill battle against the M7s for consulting and banking, given the off-cycle recruiting and the fact that there is enough talent in the US as is. The big firms, MBB, FAANG, BBs do recruit at INSEAD and hire a lot (I think my class sent about 55 to 60% into consulting), but expect to be placed outside of the US.

Consultant Esther (SBC)
SBC is the best consulting service for a reason: it really invests the time to help out the client and in term help, the client better understands him or herself. I picked the 10-hour service package for INSEAD (that is the minimum recommended for the 5+ essays and CV, interview prep, etc.). Karla was my consultant and she was great in helping me frame my structure so that all of my stories work together to form a comprehensive package that helped me gain admission into the program. Having said that, SBC is also great in helping the client set realistic expectations. For example, if one has a below average performance in one or more area (ex. GPA, GMAT, work exp) then the consultant will help you identify the list of programs to apply to. Overall, it was a great experience and I would sign up for it again in a heartbeat.

EMPOWERgmat is the best GMAT prep service I have used. Prior to using EMPOWER's services I have scored a 710 on the GMAT. After receiving admission to INSEAD and having some extra time on my hands I decided to give the GMAT another shot to boost my resume.
Overall, I spent two weeks with the program and focused on both the quant and verbal portions of the course. The main advantage that EMPOWER offers that other providers such as Magoosh and egmat (I have used them both prior) do not are the test taking strategies. While the test taking strategies seem very intuitive and obvious, it provides the test taker with a framework and guideline to follow during the last 10 questions on Quant or last 15 on Verbal when the test taker's brain becomes mush and can no longer function. The GMAT is not only a skill best test ( it is to a point) but also a logic and organization test. At the 700+ level, the test taker who can maintain confidence and poise during the exam will reach his or her dream score (of course, accounting for the +/- 30 point variability).
Overall, this course is great and I am glad I found it.
