I had my interview with Antoinette Molino. The interview was very interactive and she was keen to listen to my story. The interview lasted for 50 min. It felt as though she knew my application, did not seem to be blind. Following are the questions that she asked (once again, basic ones but still putting them out here): 1. Tell me something you do outside of work? 2. Tell me about your work experience. 3. Why McGill? Why MBA? 4. What is your post MBA goal? What companies and geographies do you have in mind? What is your plan B? 5. What do you like the most about your job? 6. What do you like the least about your job? 7. What is it like contributing to a certain industry? 8. What would your teammates say is your greatest strength? 9. What would your career be 7-10 years down the line? 10. If a teammate is not lifting his weight, what would you do? 11. What is your biggest accomplishment. 12. Do you have anything else you want to share with admission committee? 13. How would you decide on a school if you receive admits from multiple? 14. Do you have any question for me? 15. What schools have you applied to? Read Less

I applied on December 2nd week, invited for an interview on December 22nd. Then, the brief holiday interregnum. University reopened on 2nd January 2023. The interview was scheduled for 4th January 2023. The admission decision and scholarship both were intimated via mail and portal update early morning on a Saturday (IST), January 14th, 2023. Had till February 3rd to accept the offer, which I did. Interviewer: Mr. Zsolt Kekesi. Medium: Online via Teams. The day before the interview: I confirmed via email the date & time of the interview. Interview summary: The entire 30-minute session was a cordial conversation. We began the discussion by exchanging pleasantries about the New Year festivities and about proper pronunciations of our names (quite a few times I did mess up his name's pronunciation, though I expected him to mess up mine. The latter did not happen). He gave a disclaimer that he would be taking notes and would be taking his gaze away from the webcam for that purpose, but would be listening nonetheless. Questions began with traditional MBA interview queries, like the ones mentioned in the other debriefs. There were secondary questions on most questions, based specifically on my profile - how an engineering graduate ended up as an edtech entrepreneur and my motivations for that. He was also intrigued by my role in career counseling and since he himself was from the career management center, he quizzed me on the specifics using scenario-type questions. During the 'Do you have any questions for me?' section of the interview, I asked two queries. One was with regard to French immersion opportunities in McGill for an international candidate like me. The second was a query on how the career management center activities would proceed after securing and accepting the admission offer. For the first question, he didn't have a clear answer and said that he would reach out to me with details later. To my surprise, 2 days later he did get back to me via updates from McGill in that regard (of a free French immersion program being initiated). Specific Questions: The questions mentioned below would be largely a repetition of the earlier debriefs. But in the interest of keeping the interview questionnaire recent, I have mentioned them. 1) What are your short-term and long-term career plans? 2) Have you considered other career alternatives/ Plan B? 3) Why are you seeking an MBA? Why McGill MBA? 4) Where else did you apply? 5) Tell me about your job, roles, and responsibilities/Tell me about your 'typical' day at work. 6) What do you do outside of work? 7) Do you have any questions for us? Tips: a) Be specific in your answers. Do convey to the interviewer that you have actually done some research about the school, program, location, industry you want to be part of, etc. b) Do expect the next level of questions from your primary questions. That is how the conversation moves forward and becomes a unique experience for each individual even though the set of primary questions remains the same for everyone. Remember that and prepare for that. Read Less

Applied on Jan 30th 2019 in Round 2. Kept updating the Admission committee about my recent achievements and accomplishments. Got email on 2nd May 2019 that I have been shortlisted for the interview. My interview was scheduled on 7th May 2019. It started 1 Hour early with my consent, since I was online on skype rehearsing my answers and checking the audio. She told me that the interview will last for 30 mins and after that I could ask questions if I wanted to. It more of a interaction rather than an interview. I was asked very basic questions like: 1. Tell me about your job, roles and responsibilities. 2. Follow-up questions on the company where I currently work. 3. Tell me about your 'typical' day at work. (I heard it 'difficult' day at work, she corrected me in between my answer) 4. Then, she asked about what my 'difficult' day at the office would be? 5. Career goals, 10 year plan, Long term career goals. 6. Plan B, if the above plan failed. 7. Volunteering Experience and other stuff on the Resume. 8. A situation based question where she asked me what would I do if one of my team member was not pulling up with rest. 9. Then, If I had anything else to share or questions for her? The interview lasted 50 mins. My advice to the prospective candidates would be to cheer up, show a happy face. Be very clear with your career goals, companies you want to work for, positions, your long term vision, and be ready to be asked questions on that. They might check your confidence in between the interview, so make valid points and present verified data. McGill Adcom's are one of the most humble and supporting individuals. At the end of interview we discussed French movies on Netflix and culture at Montreal. She told me that I will hear from one of the Admission committee member within 2 weeks. I received offer for admission 2 days later with scholarship. Je vous remercie Best of Luck! Read Less
