100 people responded to a survey that asked them to rank three different brands of mobiles. The percentage of respondents that ranked each brand 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are listed above.

If no respondents rated the mobile in the order Y, Z, X, how many respondents rated the mobile in the following order: X, Y, Z?

A. 100
B. 60
C. 50
D. 30
E. 25

The way Z can be in the middle as the 2nd choice would be X,Z,Y or Y,Z,X, but it is given that there is no order Y,Z,X.
Thus all Z as 2nd choice is when X is first choice.

Z is 15%, so 15% opted for X,Z,Y. But total % who chose X as 1st choice is 40%.
so remaining (40-15)% =25% gave X,Y,Z as the order because there is no other possibility or order when X can be the first choice.

Thus, E is correct
