Got a bit confused initially.
Firstly, directly proportional means:
C is proportional to P
C = k.P
1. origin rule:
if C = 0, P =0 and vice versa
2. scaling rule:
if C is multiplied by 'm' times, then P is also multiplied by 'm' times and vice versa.
3 kg of compost -> 72 cents.
6kg of compost -> 144 cents.
Ans: option B

Price per kg directly proportional to fraction of compost
72 / 7 = k * (3/7)
K = 24
so for new mixture,
p / 21 = k * (6/21)
p / 21 = 24 * 6/21
p = 144
